Undeveloped Bel Air Property With Backstory Sees $11 Million Price Hike
The Colombian billionaire Jamie Gilinski has raised the listing price on an undeveloped property that he is selling from $34 million to $45 million as reported by The Real Deal.com. This parcel is located in Bel Air at 805 Nimes Place and Gilinski originally purchased it from Robert Shapiro, a Ponzi scheme ringleader who was convicted of that crime. The listing has been on the market since May of 2021 so it seems odd that Gilinski would raise the price after it has remained on the market, unsold, for this long.

Designed by Colega Architects, the 7,300-square-foot haven wraps a series of stacked volumes in natural materials, including stone, wood, and concrete, adding organic elements to the minimalistic design. Imported materials elevate interior spaces, including a family room, a custom kitchen, a primary suite with a marble fireplace, a walk-in closet with skylights, and a private terrace. Elsewhere, there are six additional bedrooms, a steam room, a sauna, and a home theater. Fleetwood doors in the living area open the home to the exterior allowing access to the patio with an outdoor kitchen, pool, spa, and bocce ball court.

The series, which comes out this fall, follow the agents and clients within The Agency as they navigate the “high stakes world of luxury real estate in Los Angeles,” according to a press release. In addition to Mauricio, Farrah and Alexia, the show will star agents Santiago Arana, Ben Belack, Joey Ben-Zvi, Jon Grauman, Brandon Graves, Allie Lutz Rosenberger, Melissa Platt and Sonika Vaid.
